Just saw a link on Fark to a cool little Tool from World 66 that lets you easily plot a map of where all you have been in your travels. So of course I did so… I used my memory and also looked through the Visa’s in all my old passports going back to childhood. Here is what I came up with:
Note: On the world level they count Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands as countries, and on the Europe level they break the United Kingdom up into its parts… I wouldn’t have done either of those, but I’ll stick with how they set it up.
Countries of the World: Canada, United States, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Angola, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, France, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, United Kingdom
Countries of Europe: France, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, England

And that’s it! I need to get back into the grove of the random trips so as to fill in some more! Like I’m not sure how I missed Kentucky and Michigan! I have a call in to my mom to see if I visited either of them as a child and don’t remember. Those are the only two east of the Mississippi that I haven’t been in. And the next random trip will fill out Mexico, whenever we are actually able to get to it…

Of the regular readers here, I bet Ivan can do best on contries worldwide. Not sure if he is also who would do the best on states.

Singing. At 16. 7 countries in 21 days. Don’t remember how many shows. I remember a nightclub called Topaz in Amsterdam with drink tokens. A cute Dutch boy and trying to teach him ballet. Yummy leek soup. Staggering down the street in Germany on a pub crawl. Austrian wine is delish. A giant chess set in a city square. French fries with mayonnaise. An inpromptu performance in a cathedral in Paris. Fireworks being tossed at us. They REALLY hate Americans. German castles. Spaghetti in Switzerland and some girl fell off a cliff in the Alps. Oops. And back in PA my cat ran away to die. :-(

Actually “lived” in PA, IL (basic training at Great Lakes within the first 5 female companies. Woo.), TN (Memphis – Millingtin, really – AO training…Also where Amy was concieved, at the Millington Motor Lodge), Lived in CA at NWTS China Lake (attached to the base squadron that “Stood Up” to become Naval Weapons Test Squadron” Yippee. I am a plank owner. First arrived there during the great blizzard of 95. The city stood still when 3 inches of snow fell.) In-laws live in IN, Dad now in RI, got free iced tea in Boston at 3 (have pics). Smashed up the Buick good in a snowstorm in AZ. Pretty place, Flagstaff. Family in CO where uncle is helping build a Buddhist Stupa. Other late unc held resort in Sonoma. Beautiful. Camping with mom in WV, gave her pneumonia. Oops. Burbon street after dark frighghtens little children. Saw a car like mine in Texas. Went over 120 MPH in New Mexico…then panicked.
Oh, and now live in FL. Forgot about that.
Oops. My mom returned my call and informed me that not only had I indeed been to both Michigan and Kentucky as a small child, but I had also been to Iowa, Nebraska and Colorado! So here is an updated map of the states I have been to:
