Alex likes to play with this exercise ball in the driveway.
I saw it behind my car.
I kicked it out of the way.
I got in my car. The ball rolled back. I did not see this.
I backed up. Squashing noise.
I rolled forward. Crunching noise.
The car had tried to eat the ball.
The car failed.
I pulled the ball out. It will be fine. Barely a scratch.
My car on the other hand is not happy.
Sigh!
Well, luckily you can deflate that ball and pop that bumper back onto the clip. Right??? No foul….
I pulled the ball out out no problem, barely a scratch on it. The clip is broken though, so it will probably be a little more than just popping it back on unfortunately. :-(

ouch! Car damage caused by inflated ball sounds wrong! What’s the physics of that!??
Backing up ball squished down, so got all the way up to where the wheel was. Then when I moved forward because I realized I’d hit something, it got pulled up into the wheel well. The fact it was squishable also let it go further than it would otherwise. But the ball was stronger than the clip holding on the bumper, so pop, broke the clip and the piece on the bumper the clip attaches to, and there ya go.
Repair options: $0 shove it back on with the broken clip (they already did this) but the back piece would not be flush with the car and would stick out a bit. $200 to take the bumper off, replace the broken clip, and “plastic weld” the bit where the bumper attaches to the clip. $1000 replace the whole bumper. Looks like we are going with the middle option.
Hahaha….Loctite Super Glue would be my option!

Yeah, it did kind of suck. But I can still appreciate the humor in it too. :-)
Your car is trying to discover alternative sources of energy? Interesting , though sad, that exercise balls are made more resistant than cars.

Yes, yes, my car was experimenting. It thought maybe it could eat balls instead of gas. Unfortunately, it failed.
