Introduction

Not having had enough of the random vacation notion for 1999, I decided to actually go to a random spot which had been chosen as a test of my methods even before the random spot in California was choosen. This one was in Nova Scotia. The long Labor Day weekend presented itself, and unlike the California trip, there was a volunteer willing to go with me, namely my friend Ivan Bou. So we made the plane reservations and planned to go. Ivan also made reservations for the car and for the first night at a hotel. The rest was going to be determined as we went. No plan. Just going.

The description of the trip will begin in just a moment with Day Zero. Please note these pages contain many pictures. And on a modem connection some of these pages could take SEVERAL MINUTES to load. So if you are interested in this, please be patient. If you aren't intrested, then don't bother. :-)

But first a few background items.

First of all, Chad did not want to go, he preferred to watch TV:

Or to play Nethack...

And while I liked my email, I could be torn away for a vacation...

And the birds, unfortunately still being sick, headed back to the vet...

But with all that taken care of, I was ready to go to Nova Scotia...
