This week on Curmudgeon’s Corner, Sam and Ivan talk about feedback to the show, Gerrymandering, Brexit, and Hurricane Dorian first. The hurricane transitions naturally into Sharpiegate, and from there to more generalized Trump corruption, which of course leads to the expansion of the investigations being done by the House Democrats. And that’s a show!

This week on Curmudgeon’s Corner, something different. The whole episode is an interview with Bret Chiafalo. He is one of the co-founders of Hamilton Electors, a group of electors that mounted an effort to deny Donald Trump his electoral college victory in 2016. That effort failed, but the resulting court battles continue. Sam and Bret discuss how the efforts in 2016 played out, and the current state of the legal cases winding their way through the courts. If you are a presidential election junkie, don’t miss this one!

16:12:38 Retweeted @dandrezner12:38:10 There’s a lot of repellent stuff in these tweets, but it’s interesting that Trump presumes Ayanna Pressley (born in Chicago), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (born in NYC), and Rashida Tlaib (born in Detroit) were not born in the USA. https://t.co/2vHjEnMdRs
16:12:42 Retweeted @endeavoringE13:17:49 This happens to anyone who isn’t white – and perpetuates the notion that an “American” is nothing more than that, when, in fact, an American is an idea, not an ethnicity. And this is how the monsters win. https://t.co/MRa1Xdljje
16:13:18 Retweeted @4lisaguerrero15:57:56 Make no mistake. Telling people of color to “go back where they came from” is racist. If people criticize this administration or it’s policies it doesn’t make them less “patriotic”, in fact the most patriotic thing you can do is to stand up & speak out against hate & intolerance.
16:28:22 Retweeted @jonfavs2019-07-13 15:55:22 Hey, all you Democrats who work in Washington together: maybe get off Twitter, get into a room next week, and work out your problems like adults because DONALD FUCKING TRUMP IS PRESIDENT.
16:39:10 Retweeted @BreeNewsome2019-07-13 14:43:36 I ask again, what does “bipartisanship” mean when one of the parties is blatantly white nationalist & is implementing murderous, racist policies??? WTF, y’all.
17:04:02 Retweeted @stevesilberman16:42:27 Blatant lying like this is no accident. In classic Orwellian fashion, Trump is pounding a cleaver – BAM! BAM! BAM! – right through the center of his supporters’ brains, so they can’t access an accurate internal model of reality. LOVE ME, he whispers, I AM BETTER THAN REALITY. https://t.co/nnCnXbzram
21:55:00 Retweeted @natsecHeather20:54:25 I love peanut butter too. A college classmate died b/c a restaurant didn’t disclose peanut butter in its chili. By the time they realized, it was too late. Epi-pens, desensitization are great but they aren’t magic. A little inconvenience vs actual human lives. Please reconsider. https://t.co/54xgkQ4WjS
