Curmudgeon’s Corner: Toy Swords

On this week’s Curmudgeon’s Corner, Sam is joined by his wife Brandy. They spend the biggest part of the show discussing… or maybe arguing about… changing how you talk about things in order to avoid offending, insulting, or excluding people… or as it is most commonly called, politically correct speech. Then Cambridge Analytica gets its turn. Is it a big deal? Or not? Finally, Sam and Brandy’s son Alex once again joins the show for some video game commentary, placed conveniently at the end of the show.

    Hi Sam,
Loved the last video of AlexВґs Youtube channel but my question is this. I am only subscribed to his channel and another. I put a public comment on both. Does that mean EVERYONE in the world can see it? I figure Alex isnВґt creating this with anything other than his only personal satisfaction, (such a progression in the videos I am truly impressed!!)and a desire to get to 100 subscribers .-)but then again maybe the other one is. Jazz and Blues Experience. I know that Google tracks EVERYTHING and I donВґt have a problem with that, but help your tech ignorant but music and family loving aunt when you have a chance. Should I unsubscribe to the other?? It is an amazing music channel and has everything that I love to listen to, exercise too etc. Thanks. And if I should unsubscribe, how do I do it?? and I realize it takes you a while to get back. Hopefully I will have decided and done what is needed or not by then, if so I will let you know.

  • Yes, when you make a public comment, it is indeed public and everyone can see it. Unless you are really saying something you don’t want public, you shouldn’t worry about that though. Subscribing is just a good way to get updates when there is new content (be sure to click the bell to also get notifications!) and there is also no need to unsubscribe from someone you actually want to follow. As for Alex, he fully intends to keep growing his channel and eventually make a living with it. We will see how that goes. But he is now learning professional level video editing tools to improve his videos further. So we shall see!
