I got curious about John Bolton’s military experience since he is always anxious to commit troops to battle. He had a draft lottery number that would result in conscription in 1970. He then enlisted in the National Guard, served 18 weeks of basic training on active duty and then four years in NG reserve followed by two years in Army Reserve. Never heard a gun fired in combat. Never saw a wounded or dying soldier or civilian casualty. Has zero experience with the horrors of war.
